LOCAL OFFICIALS JOINS PCFA TREE PLANTING DRIVE
October 15, Pampanga – The governor of Pampanga Among Ed Panlilio, together with the Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales and Vice Mayor Lagman of Mabalacat and Vice Mayor Vicky Vega OF Angeles City opens the Paradise Ranch as leisure park and wildlife sanctuary; highlighting the collosal tree planting drive of PCFA “I love Planet Earth” Ten thousand tree planting drive at Sacobia Valley, Clarkfield, Pampanga.

Governor Panlilio stress that in 1970, seventy percent of the archipelago are planted with trees and by year 2000, only thirty percent of the land are covered with trees. “We have to act now so we can present an earth and an ecology that is pattern after in His image and likeness reflecting the love of God by loving the creation that have been entrusted to our care”; he said.
After the short program, a ceremonial tree planting was followed; joining the said local officials are DENR Representative Mr. Pete Galvan, Col. Alejandro Camagay of Philippine Air Force, Mr. Guy Hilbero of Mabalacat Tourism Office and Pampanga Agricultural College President Mr. Honorio Soriano who also turned over several animals for dispersal program.

On the ten thousand tree planting drive, Dau Central School won the grand prize of ten thousand pesos collecting more than six hundred trees from the students, followed by Angeles University Foundation ( NSTP Department) who won Five thousand pesos and third in rank is Holy Family Academy winning Three thousand pesos worth of adventure for raising more than 500 trees.
“I Love Planet Earth” was launched to encourage all sectors of society; from concerned citizen to the philanthropic corporation to take a small but practical steps to combat what is probably the key challenge to global warming problem of the 21 st century.
